At the sanctuary, we are educating visitors to care for nature and to protect animals that are included in the Red Data Book of Ukraine, and brown bears in particular. The project has a major social significance for Ukraine and promotes the implementation of European standards in the field of biodiversity conservation.
We offer educators the opportunity to make joint classes with our specialists, outside of the school classroom, and located in the middle of nature of the picturesque Roztochya, which is only 30 minutes away from the centre of Lviv.
The Forest School programme includes:
- Interactive lessons in the forest class which will be conducted by our employees.
- Educational excursions around the bear enclosures together with our guides.
- Entertainment and games in the forest glade.
- Becoming acquainted with the flora and fauna of Roztochya and the Red Data Book of Ukraine.
We can additionally offer master-classes on the painting of Yavoriv toys, which are colourfully painted wooden toys with folkloric designs, and can organise lessons on studying traditional crafts of our region.
The Forest School has two set sessions per day:
From 10:00 until 13:30 and from 14:00 until 17:30 our bistro, Honey and Berry, offers light snacks, hot lunches, as well as traditional local dishes, all of which are made from eco-friendly products. Honey and Berry is open during our regular working hours and is looking forward to welcoming you! Visitors from schools can reserve tables in our café, or outside, in the alcoves.
