Green Sanctuary

At BEAR SANCTUARY Domazhyr, every member of our team understands the importance of protecting the environment. We are committed to using natural resources responsibly and efficiently. Sustainability is an essential part of our mission and supports our commitment to providing the highest standards of animal welfare.

• The sanctuary successfully uses solar panels to generate clean energy. Solar power significantly reduces environmental impact, including water pollution. Although manufacturing solar panels requires some water, the overall amount needed to produce solar electricity is considerably lower than that required by conventional energy sources. Solar energy also places minimal pressure on local water resources, helping preserve water supplies for agriculture, drinking water systems, and other essential needs. To further reduce our carbon footprint, we use an electric vehicle for transportation around the sanctuary. It is charged using electricity generated by our solar panels, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions and CO₂ emissions.
• We collect and store rainwater, which is used for four different technical purposes, including irrigating lawns, cleaning, and providing an additional water supply in the event of a fire.
• Have you noticed the different recycling bins throughout the sanctuary? We provide separate containers for plastic, paper, glass, and organic waste for composting. We also avoid using plastic bags and continuously work to reduce plastic packaging. Visitors can learn more about responsible waste management through our educational activity, "Sort Waste Correctly," where everyone can discover the importance of recycling and proper waste separation.
• At our Honey & Berry Café, we use biodegradable tableware made from corn starch, allowing our guests to enjoy their meals while minimizing their environmental impact. ECOCORN disposable tableware naturally decomposes into water and organic matter under the influence of sunlight, moisture, and microorganisms in the soil.
• Don't throw away your used batteries—recycle them! BEAR SANCTUARY Domazhyr provides a collection point for used batteries. Recycling just one battery can help prevent toxic contamination of up to 16 square metres of soil.
